The nurse should instruct the patient who is started on verapamil (Calan) for his elevated blood pressure to monitor his:
1.   urine output.
2.   pulse.
3.   stool for blood.
4.   edema.


This is for my medical nursing class

Verapamil (Calan) is a calcium channel blocker and most often causes bradycardia.

2. It is a calcium channel blocker which decreased excitability of the heart, and therefore decreases heart rate. The other options don't necessarily relate to CCBs.
