The 1991 Rodney King beating is mentioned in paragraph 4 to support the point that
 
  a. if phones with video recorders had existed at the time, the King beating would probably not have happened in the
  first place
  b. the Rodney King video was not spread to the general public as quickly as similar videos are today.
  c. the treatment of King by police was probably justified.
