The parents of a dying child speak a language that is not common to the hospital staff. The nurse should do which of the following in this situation:
 
  a. Understand that the staff is not responsible for communication if an interpreter is not available
  b. Decide that the situation is too frustrating to continue caring for the child
  c. Use patience and understanding in trying to establish communication
  d. Understand that there is no need to communicate since care is only palliative
