Parents can assist their child when transitioning to school by becoming involved in the school. Meeting the teacher or volunteering will help the parents be familiar with the school and will provide a source of communication between home and school. Parents should observe their child for behavior changes, such as becoming withdrawn. Encouraging the child to discuss happenings at school each day will help parents know what is going in their child's life.
