Some enzymes have a very important function in the process of DNA replication. What would be the consequence for DNA replication in case of a loss of function of:

a. DNA Polymerase I

b. Toposiomerase (helicase)

a. DNA Polymerase I

The DNA polymerase I is used to fill the gap between DNA fragments of the lagging strand. Therefore, without it you'd have incomplete strands of complementary DNA.

b. Toposiomerase (helicase)

DNA helicase unwinds the two strands; in other words it separates the two strands. If it separates it that means it doesn't want it to recoil back together. Without it, DNA would not get "unzipped" and as a result, DNA replication wouldn't occur.
