What are 2 pieces of anatomical evidence that lead ichthyologists to consider that sturgeons are a fairly old group of fishes?

The sturgeon fishes share a number of characteristics with sharks, which are considered to be more primitive by many scientists. These shared characters include: heterocercal tail, and a ventral mouth.
