Rough-skinned newts from different regions of the Pacific Northwest vary greatly in their toxicity. Rough-skinned newts are preyed upon by garter snakes that have evolved resistance to the rough-skinned newts' toxin.

Assume that newts and garter snakes form a coevolutionary mosaic. Try to predict what would happen if you fed a high-toxicity newt to a garter snake from an area with low-toxicity newts?

What will be an ideal response?
