Acting on stage and acting in film, while related, are very different kinds of performance. How would you describe the major differences between the two? While it is true that many stage actors have crossed over to film acting, many fewer film actors have crossed over to live performance. Why is that?

Stage actors do not have the same safety nets as film actors. They must do their own stunts, sing their own songs, and remember their lines because they do not have multiple chances to get a scene right. Some actors may not cross over from screen to stage because they lack these physical, vocal, or memory skills.
