Without people like Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X's marches for civil rights, laws that changed racial minorities' social conditions wouldn't exist. The bus boycott, that went into full swing after Rosa Parks' arrest for not giving up her seat, changed laws against black people sitting in the front of the bus. The Freedom Riders' sit-ins helped get rid of segregation in restaurants. Gandhi's peaceful protests improved the lives of Indians. Abolitionists like Frederick Douglass made people more open to abolishing slavery in the U.S. The changes in the social conditions of racial minorities are largely started by individuals, and then followed by a group.

...I hope this helps!
