There are two ways of challenging potential jurors: peremptory challenges and
challenges for cause.
A peremptory challenge is one made to strike a juror without having to give a
reason.
A challenge for cause is a strike made by showing that the juror cannot render a fair
and impartial verdict, i.e., the juror's biased.
