Unlicensed personnel are not licensed by the state in their own right. Why is it that these persons can perform delegated tasks?

  1. They practice on the license of the professionals delegating the tasks.
   2. They are sanctioned by the American Hospital Association as an exception to the requirement for a license.
   3. They work under the auspices and licensure of the institution, not the professional nurse.
   4. They are sanctioned by the state nurse practice act as an exception to the requirement for licensure.

  1. Set variable standards of care depending upon the nurse's previous experience.
   2. Fire any nurse who does not meet established standards of care.
   3. Establish a formal discipline plan to be used when standards of care are not followed.
   4. Eliminate standards of care until the chief nurse can assess the situation.

   2. Assist the aide in completion of the ambulation.
   3. Scold the second aide for not carrying through with the delegated task.
   4. Immediately initiate disciplinary actions against both aides for not following directions.

   2. The charge nurse should ask the new nurse to try the procedure alone.
   3. The charge nurse should assign the task to a different nurse.
