a.are generalized because they draw upon information over time, tasks, and settings.
b. are stable for the same reasons.
c. are formed as a consequence of comparing themselves to their peers.
d. are influenced by information and attitudes communicated by significant others and by self-efficacy appraisals in areas that are deemed important.

Problem finding pertains primarily to ill-structured problems and is a critical first step in the problem-solving process, since it may not be realized that a problem even exists. Problem finding depends upon curiosity and dissatisfaction with the status quo.
