Increase viscosity need more force from your ventricles to bush it out and long standing condition may lead to ventricular hypertrophy.

Your heart would have to pump alot harder. Imagine trying to push water through a pipe. No problem right. Then try to push maple syrup through. Harder. Then try molassass. Even harder. Same theory.
