Answer to q. 1

ANSWER: Glycolysis requires the input of 2 ATP to cleave glucose. Therefore this cost must be
subtracted from the total produced for a net gain of ATP.

Answer to q. 2

ANSWER: Glycolysis produces 4 ATP molecules (or 2 net ATP)
The Krebs cycle produces 2 ATP
The electron transfer phosphorylation produces about 32 ATP
