Environmental influences on intelligence exist, such as poverty, malnutrition, or exposure to lead. However, it is often difficult to disentangle the effects of such influences. Why is that?
a)  Environmental factors, such as poverty, malnutrition, or exposure to lead, tend to be correlated with one another.
b)  There are no good ways to quantify factors such as lead exposure.
c)  Environmental factors contribute to genetic expression; poverty, for example, may have a genetic basis.
d)  People from impoverished environments do not participate in studies of intellectual ability.
