The hypothetical combination of alleles HLA-A90, HLA-B58 and HLA-C2 carries a relative risk of 180 for a newly described cancer. In 28% of individuals, HLA-A90 is present at a frequency of 16%, HLA-B58 is present at a frequency of 9% and HLA-C2 is present at a frequency of 10%. For the combination of alleles HLA-A90 and HLA-B58, and HLA-AC2 and HLA-B58 at linked loci, what is the expected frequency for the alleles associated with this disorder?

a. 0.96% and 2.3%
b. 25% and 19%
c. 144% and 90%

This is all the information I got, it is very confusing and I don't know even how to start or what formulas to use.
Thank you!

(p+q+r)^2

so for A90 & B58
find 2qr

(p^2+2pq+q^2+2pr+2qr+r^2)=1

A90----p^2=sqrt(0.448)=0.21
B58----q^2=sqrt(0.0252)=0.50
AC2----r^2= sqrt(0.028)=0.17
         must equal to 1

don't know what to do next.... Slight Smile if anyone wants to continue please do  lol

its this formula (p^2+2pq+q^2+2pr+2qr+r^2)=1

I cant delete it so if you seen this formula (p+q+r)^2 please ignore it... thanks  Slight Smile
