I know:

\(\sin ^2x+\cos ^2x=1\)

but what about:

\(\sin ^23x+\cos ^23x=1\)

Answer:

Any time you see: \(\sin ^2nx+\cos ^2nx=1\), where \(n\) represents any integer, the identity applies.

Therefore, only when the angles are the same, can the identity be applied.
