https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/03/ventilators-explained-key-device-fight-coronavirus-200329065155185.html

Will there be shortage of Ventilators for countries fighting the COVID-19 Pandemic?

Can a Single Ventilator machine provide oxygen for two people at a time as the above news suggests?

Thanks & Regards,
Prashant S Akerkar

Currently there is, but the US government has stepped into ask major manufacturers such as GM to start producing them.

Depends on the design. Most are designed for a single person only, because I figure you wouldn't want to use the same machine from another infected person.

Thanks.

1

So one ventilator machine can provide oxygen to more than one person?

There are pros & cons?

2

Ventilator Manufacturing cos should start manufacturing machines in Bulk / Mass quantities as there could be shortage for supplies to Hospitals.

Isn' it?

3

Are Ventilators machines portable?

There can be advantages for portable design & construction. Isn' it?

Thanks & Regards,

Thank you.

If a Single ventilator machine model works for two COVID-19 patients in parallel for providing oxygen to Lungs, then there are advantages in those hospitals where there is acute shortage of ventilators in all countries suffering from COVID-19 Pandemic?

What is your opinion?

Actually I suggested against that. Each ventilator should be dedicated per patient, and based on the circumstances we're facing, you should have one ventilator per room. There's too much risk sharing a single ventilator per 2 people, as it could potentiate the spread of the virus.
