What is the likely relationship between social skills and risk for depression?

Increased need for social interaction among extraverts puts them at risk for depression after a relationship ends.

Both have common genetic foundations.

Those who are depressed lose their ability to interact appropriately with others, so depression is the cause of poor social skills.

People with poor social skills have a harder time getting the social support and reinforcers that we need.
