1. The temperature of a swimming pool is cyclic and modelled by a trigonometric function. The
temperature of the pool was first recorded at 12:00 noon and the highest temperature occurred
at 6:00 pm. If its highest temperature is 82 °F and its lowest temperature is 76 °F, and it takes
12 hours for the temperature to change between its extremes, what equation models the
temperature of the pool as a function of time in hours? What is the temperature to the nearest
degree at 11:00 pm?
