For one of my questions I'm supposed to determine a sine equation and cosine equation for the following graph, I believe I've found the amplitude and the period but had difficulty with finding the phase shift, how would you do that exactly?

Here's another one for sine.

still a little confused with finding the phase shift, because my graph seems it different, I'm getting different numbers. Can I show you my graph and what I have did so far?

Ok Thanks!
So to find the amplitude, I did max-min/2 = 1-(-3)/2=2 then to find the c value/or equ of axis, max+min/2 = 1 + (-3)/2 = -1
To find the period
P= 2pi/b
2pi/4pi
=1/2
And then I was stuck on the phase shift and the rest

The sin equation would be y= 2sin(2/3x+pi/m)-1, correct?

Just checked! and sin is slightly shifted (blue is sin) (green is cos) so I guess I was wrong. I saw a video that said to switch signs Frowning Face

What this suggests is that to convert a function from cosine to sine, it's not as simple as changing the letters. There's actually a process to doing it.

Leave it as cosine, unless you were specifically asked to write it as sine

The question asks me to write it as sine as well
