The nurse has been able to have management institute a family-friendly policy for employees with small children or older parents, which allows them some latitude in job hours in order to attend to these needs. Productivity among the employees has actually risen and absenteeism has decreased. What conclusion can the nurse make from this finding?
1. Having small children or older parents motivates an employee to work more productively.
2. As long as the work gets done, it does not matter what hours are put in by the employees.
3. Relieving the burden of caregiving stress on an employee can create a work climate that becomes more productive.
4. The productivity and decreased absenteeism is due to employees without small children or older parents.
