The Joule (J) is the SI unit of energy.
The calorie (cal) is the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 g of water by IOC.
1 cal 4.184 J
The British Thermal Unit (BTU) is the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 pound of
water by IOF. 1 BTU = 1055 J
