I believe the answer is (c), since migration into the population needs to be high, and so does the difference in fitness between individuals.

hi, thank you for replying. Please could you explain how difference in fitness between individuals affects evolution? Also, shouldn't variation be high so that evolution is faster as there is lower chance that the animal will be affected by the selective pressure?
thank you!

I selected (C) for the following reasons.
Without genetic variation (i.e. low heritable variation), a population cannot evolve in response to changing environmental variables and, as a result, may face an increased risk of extinction.
The more differences exist in a population, the more options natural selection will have when selecting who's fittest to survival, leading to evolution and not extinction.

Fitness means reproductive success and reflects how well an organism is adapted to its environment. High fitness means more likely to adapt when nature selects who's most fit to survive. Does that help?
