I working on a lab report and have my graphs done however excell and I are not getting along today. I need to find the max rate, average weight, total amount and time of reaction.. I know, or I think I know this involves slope. Is there any where on the net that gives a guide how to find this info? Every time I attempt to find the answers I come up with different data so I know Im missing something.

I believe for rate, you take two random points along the line-of-best-fit and use the formula:

(y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) = rate of whatever.

For average, you take all the points along the y axis, for example, add them all up and divide by the amount of x's that were there.

For total amount and time of reaction, you add all the values of t (time).

Not particularly sure what it is you're doing though, a little more information would help Slight Smile ...

I think I see what I am doing now, I have the tendency to make things complicated when they are not. What I have been asked to do is find the maximum rate of oxygen produced,the average rate of oxygen produced, the total amount of oxygen produced and the time of reaction until oxygen production levels off for an enzyme lab.

The maximum rate of oxygen produced at 0-60 seconds with a temperature of 2 C is 25%, of 40 C is 62%, of 80 C is 0.00.
The maximum rate of oxygen produced at  pH 2, 2%, pH 7 27% and pH 8%.
The average rate of oxygen produced at temperatures of 2 C is 25%, of 40 C is 55%, of 80 C is 0%.
The average rate of oxygen produced with pH 2 , 1%, pH 7, 44% and pH 16%.


Does this look like it is right? Temp is Celsius. Here are my numbers for temp. Does this look right or am I missing something?For reaction until oxygen levels off I just add everything together? My table did not adjust right...sorry. Thanks for the help! I feel lost for this lab report.

All makes sense, but I have a slight issue with rate. Why is it in percent? That is dependnet on your x and y variables.

I agree with Sarah. Rate is a measure of something over something else, for example, speed is a rate of metres per second.
