Are all amphoteric molecules weak acids or weak bases?  Could an amphoteric molecule act as an acid in one solution and a base in another? (I believe so) Can weak acids act as an acid in one solution and a base in another? (I believe so) Can weak bases act as a base in one solution and an acid in another? (I believe so)  I know that weak acids and bases partially disassociate in water amphoteric molecules may not.  I spent about 10 minutes googling this and I just figured I would ask the community.  In what ways are amphoteric molecules weak acids or weak bases? thanks.
