Correlational research is not appropriate for identifying what variable might affect another variable because
a.  it is hard to find predictable relationships between complex variables.
b.  when researchers manipulate variables, other unknown variables might affect behavior.
c.  it is often not clear which of the variables being measured could be the one influencing another variable.
d.  correlations may not be appropriate in observational research.
