Goldenberg et al. (1999) investigated responses of people who scored either high or low on a test of neuroticism.  The researchers then used random assignment to split each of these groups into subgroups in which the low and the high neurotic participants were primed to think of either the physical or the romantic aspects of sex.  This design
a.  mixes a quasi-experimental variable and a true experimental variable.
b.  eliminates the possible problem with the selection threat to internal validity.
c.  has the advantages of the interrupted time series design without the disadvantage of the replicated interrupted time series design.
d.  makes use of natural pairs to reduce the possibility of asymmetric transfer.
