This is a hypothetical question.

Supposing there's a young person anywhere between the ages of 12-25 who has had all of their collagen, fibroblasts and fibrocytes in their skin damaged or destroyed. Would the collagen be able to fully regenerate with time, or only partially?

Fibroblasts produce collagen/elastin all the time, but if all of the fibroblasts in the dermis are damaged or destroyed, I don't know what would happen. It looks like they can only reproduce through mitosis.

I don't know, that's what I'd like to find out at this point.

e.g. red blood cells are produced in the bone marrow, but what about fibroblasts?

Collagen is a group of naturally occurring proteins. In nature, it is found exclusively in animals, especially in the flesh and connective tissues of mammals.

Here's what I found, in response to wounding or inflammation, increased numbers of fibroblasts are produced within tissue. (1) Fibroblasts can proliferate locally to generate new fibroblasts.
