Consider the circuit in the drawing. (R1 = 2.0-ohms , R2 = 33-ohms , V1 = 37.0 V)

DRAWING:

(a) Determine the magnitude of the current (A) in the circuit.

(b) Determine the magnitude of the voltage (V) between the points labeled A and B.

(c) Select which point, A or B, is at the higher potential.

Current will flow clockwise (because V1 is larger than 10V) and will be equal to total voltage divided by total resistance.

I = (37-10)V/(33+2+8+12)? = 0.419A

Starting at A going toward B we have:

Vab = 37V - 0.419A*33? = +23.1V

Point B is 23.1V higher than A
