False. While it is the natural response to foreign bodies, a few things are not benificial. 1. Temperature increases are part of the systemic inflammation response, a temperature of over 104f begins to do damage to the body, and if it goes high enough, it will cause death or permanent damage. 2 anaphylaxis is also a result of a hypersentive allergic reaction. 3. Inflammation in the brain can cause brain damage or death. 4 sustained local inflammation of a lower extremity in a diabetic patient can cause tissue death from lack of oxygenation.
