Apparently their are a few city's with the nickname. Answer to this question would be the first city with this nickname and be in a southern state. Should be around time period of I'm guessing late 1700 to early 1800's? Maybe late 1800's?

Maybe? I am really not sure my history teacher ask me and said I could never find the answer. Said maybe I could find it on google scholar. I didn't see it there.
