R(sereis) is when two resistors share one common node. Use the equation Rt = R1 + R2 + ... + Rn

R(parallel) is when two resistors share two common nodes. Use the equation 1/Rt = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + ... + 1/Rn OR Rt = (R1R2)/(R1 + R2)
