Organic chemistry failed many a student.
Study as much as you can as often as you can.
Get tutoring before you get far behind.
Be sure you KNOW you KNOW the information.
Talk to students who successfully passed the course with the same professor. Go to the used bookstore, and find their names in the old books, if need be, if asking around doesn't help.

One of the guidelines we were given, was study 1 hour per course hour per week. So, most schools have Org Chem as 3 hours plus 1 hour lab = 4 hours study per week. Increase it if you need to.

well, generally for college classes you should plan on three hours for every hour you're in class. So, if it's a three credit class, plan on nine hours a week. I would recommend one hour a day as a minimum.

If you're teacher offers help sessions with a TA, definitely go to those. Do lots of practice problems and make flash cards with reactions to carry around, I used to bring them to work so I could study. You really shouldn't need a tutor if you buckle down and study. There's a lot of stuff to memorize and apply so it requires more time than guided help.

I have completed my o-chem requirements and am currently a pre-med student as well....and I studied my butt off for an A.  I suggest you make a ton of notecards and study them consistently up until the test day.  Do no procrastinate!
