protons: 28 (same as atomic number, which is the value right above the abbreviation for the element, usually bold font)

neutrons: 31 (do the mass number - # of protons, mass number is usually in small font under the element name)

electrons (always same as protons in neutral atom): 31

Nickel has 28 protons. All day. That's what gives nickel its chemical identity as nickel. And there are 28 electrons in a neutral nickel atom. But remember that nickel will loan out electrons according to its chemistry. Nickel's neutron count varies. That's what isotopes are all about.
