Why are raindrops larger than 5 millimeters rare?
A) If they form larger than 5 millimeters then they will reach the ground as snow or hail instead of rain because they cannot melt completely.
B) The frictional drag from falling is greater than the surface tension that holds the drops together when they get larger than 5 millimeters.
C) There is no process to form large raindrops in clouds.
D) Because they start as snowflakes, they must grow much larger than 5 millimeters while falling from a cloud without sublimating.
