What information can I get from Aedes aegypti ovitraps?

I'm developing a software that registers the number of eggs of Aedes aegypti ovitraps scattered around some neighborhoods. The main feature is to display a heatmap, but I want to know if there is more info that I can put in it. Is there some kind of mathematical formula that is used to estimate the number of mosquitoes in that area? Any info in that direction is useful! Thanks in advance.
