DNA replication occurs during the S phase (synthesis phase) of the cell cycle (occurring between G1 phase and G2 phase).

It depends if you are talking about meiosis, or mitosis, if you are talking about mitosis, then the DNA is replicated once during synthesis (in between G1 and G2). However in meiosis the DNA is replicated twice (still during synthesis) and the cell splits into 4 haploid cells
