Robert Walpole’s policy was to reduce the land tax and replace it with excise and customs taxes. This policy helped to stabilize the country and establish a long-lasting Whig dominance in British politics. It also helped to increase the flow of money between Britain and its colonies, which ultimately led to the growth of the American economy
