If a plant cell were used in an osmosis lab instead of an egg would you expect different results?

similar, but not the same

plant cells can be turgid, meaning that they can take in more water than an animal cell and jump plump up instead of exploding.  plant cells are naturally a little more full than you would expect them to be, while animal cells need that perfect balance.

this picture may help explain it a little (the first picture is for plant cells, the second is for animal cells)
