Alkanes are organic molecules with only single bonds between the Carbons, while alkenes feature at least one double bond, and alkynes have at least one triple bond.

A cyclo- indicates that the hydrocarbon has a chain that attaches back to itself, aka is square, pentaganol, hexagonal, etc etc, up to almost circular.
