What would happen if the RH-Factor of donor and the recipient are not matched before the blood transfusion?

The recipient may die due to blood clotting.

the recipients body would start to attack it's self.  The positive part( for example A+ ) is a antibody that is attached to the blood.  A person with a negative blood type doesn't have that antibody.  It works the same way that it does when you get an organ transplant and your body rejects it.  You can die from this if they don't find out in time.

People who are RH- cannot take RH+ as their bodies will fight off the antigen, causing clots.
