e) Explain how the reabsorption of ions and water occurs in the distal tubule. How is it different than the proximal tubule?

In the loop of henle, the descending loop goes down makes a loop and then comes up in the ascending loop.

It is permeable to water resulting in loss of water by the filtrate by osmosis. Salt becomes concentrated in the filtrate as descending limb penetrates the inner medulla of the kidney.
