The question states:

What would be the charge and electron configuration of an ion formed from calcium that is isoelectronic with the following ions? Then it goes on to say find the charge of Ar+. Any help would be appreciated!

Isoelectronic means to have the same number of electrons.  An Argon+ atom has 17 electrons---same as chlorine.  To get a calcium atom to have 17 electrons, you must take away 3 electrons from the neutral state, giving the Ca atom a +3 charge.

The electron configuration would be: [Ne] 3s2 3p5

Hope this helps
