wont you die during a heart transplant during that time when they take your heart out to put in the machine why'll putting in the new heart that somebody donated.

They really try to avoid that. Ruins everyone's afternoon. How about getting the machine going BEFORE you remove the heart?

The surgeons first bypass the blood into an external artificial heart-lung unit, so the rest of the body is still oxygenated during the procedure. Since the patient is under deep sedation (you better believe it, they really don't want to risk seeing the patient wake) the need for oxygen is reduced.

I think that they put the patient in a coma that lowers the blood pressure what the machine does is pump the blood Thur the body and into the head so that the brain has the oxygen that it needs to stay alive in short the patient is still alive even though he or she has no heart in the chest cavity.

And also the respirator system (slows the breathing)

Anesthesiologists and perfusionists work together to keep the patient from dying.  That's what we do.  Machines take over the job of the heart and lungs.
