I have a serious fear of needles and this situation is so hard. What part of the body is this shot usually given in when treating an ectopic pregnancy.

usually in the upper thigh, around the belly button or back of the arm, where the skin and fat are thickest.  i take injections once a week.  you will be fine, trust me on this.  it's an easy one.

I take methotrexate every week, I draw my own syringe, and it is sub q.

It is given in the upper outer quadrant of the left or right buttock. It is not painful.  It is not given in the arm or the belly or anything like that.  It is an intramuscular injection, not a subcutaneous injection.  i have had 5 ectopics so I know this for a fact.
