C. 64

To put things simply, the number of molecules doubles each cycle.  2^(n), where n is the number of cycles, gives you how many molecules are yielded

Answer should be 64. This is because PCR is modelled by 2^x, where x represents the number of rounds. There are 6 rounds, and 2^6 is 64.

The answer is C.
With PCR, the DNA yield is exponential. So, with one DNA molecule, there are 2 strands growing exponentially.
So c being the number of cycles..the equation would be 2^(c), in this case c=6 cycles. 2^(6) is 64.

The answer is 64.  I will paste a link on PCR synthesis, it is an animation.  1 cycle will give you 2 copies, 2nd cycle will give you 4 copies, 3rd will give 8, 4th will give you 16, 5th will give you 32 and 6th cycle will give you 64. Each cycle will be double the amount of copies.
