Example 1:  Consider these equations:

2x - 5y  =   1

3x + 5y  = 14
(Elimination)

Use the substitution method to solve the linear system.
5x + 3y = 26
x - 3y = 4

Ex. 2 3/4 + 3 1/2 How do you simplify these?
