I cannot find anywhere where they actually say they found out what caused them to die. One possibility was that sonar used by an american naval ship threw them off course.

I'm guessing...due to lack of interest in the results...that that might be the case because if it were anything else, I think the results would be posted everywhere!

Did the dolphins strand? If so Whales and dolphins strand all the time. Scientists don't yet know what the reason for this is. A theory is that if one of the dolphins/whales get sick they go inland to beach themselves, because these animals swim in pods the others follow thus causing a massive stranding.
