How could you separate common salt and ammonium chloride?

I don't think it is possible to separate NaCl and NH4Cl because both sodium and ammonium are soluble in water (no exceptions) according to the solubitlity rules (all alkali metal and NH4+ are always soluble). Perhaps you can boil the water until there are no more water molecules left (i doubt that's possible though).

Heat the mixture, and allow the ammonium chloride to cool in another part of the apparatus.  Look up "sublimation of ammonium chloride".
